The Whiteside Theatre- a nonprofit entity- is Corvallis’ oldest operating venue; specializing in second run film, live music and speaking events, as well as serving the community in conjunction with local nonprofits. The position of Volunteer Coordinator/ Front of House Manager is an essential in keeping patrons, volunteers, and customers connected and coming back. Hours will be mostly in the evenings with some day time work. We are close knit and dedicated staff who have a lot of fun and work really hard bringing entertainment and support to our community.
Organizes, coordinates and manages the recruitment of volunteers for Events at the Whiteside Theatre.
Works with the Executive Director and Events producers to determine volunteer needs for their shows.
Works with social, civic and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers.
Develops and implements training programs for all volunteers.
Maintains and updates volunteers and their information through Volgsitics.
Reports to the Executive Director on volunteer activities as needed.
Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization.
Develops and implements a volunteer recognition program.
Work with the Executive Director, creates a yearly Volunteer budget.
House Manager
Works as the primary House Manager for all events
Point person for Bar Manager and any Tech Staff
Helps maintain concessions stock
Opening and closing the Theatre
Setting up/takedown for the event
Training new volunteers and recording hours
Reconcile and record transactions for the event
Depositing total cash sales + maintaining cash box
Record box office sales
Comprehensive knowledge of all duties (ex. box office, concessions, usher, door...)
Resolving questions and discrepancies
Knowledge on Theatre rules and policies
Qualifications and skills High school diploma required, BA preferred Detail oriented Social media experience preferred Work as or with volunteers preferred Strong communication skills Customer service experience required Ability to work self-sufficiently on assigned tasks Able to deal with unexpected challenges quickly, calmly and efficiently
This job is part time with a potential for growth 25-30/ week Pay starts at $15.50/ hour
The Whiteside Theatre Foundation is a nonprofit public charitable corporation, composed of an all-volunteer group of people who are working together to restore and reopen the historic Whiteside Theatre for the benefit of the entire community.
